CHAMP Program Takes Top Marks

Camden's Humane Animal Movement Program, or CHAMP, is one program that has been created to bring help to the doorsteps of pet owners living in some of the city's most underprivileged neighborhoods.

On May 24th the Camden County Animal Shelter, in partnership with NJ Aid for Animals and the Animal Welfare Association, hosted a free vaccination clinic for Camden City residents as well as distributed food and collars/leashes to needy families.  This was also an opportunity to educate pet parents and to spread the word of our free spay/neuter program for Camden's cats and large dogs.

Please consider supporting this program by donating or volunteering to help make it a success.

Canine Cutie and Fabulous Feline

These residents will go home with a free gift basket on adoption.

Daisy

Daisy came to us a few months ago nursing a litter of kittens. She was immediately taken into foster care to allow her to care for her kittens in a peaceful environment. Daisy's kittens are all grown now and they were all recently adopted. Daisy is positive for FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus,) so she needs a very special home! FIV is not a death sentence - cats positive for FIV can live as long as their non-FIV friends and require no special drugs or treatment. FIV is transmitted in cats only by saliva to blood contact. The majority of FIV-positive cats we see are unaltered stray or outdoor cats who are routinely fighting for territory. Daisy is very sweet and adores dogs and most cats. There is no reason why Daisy cannot live in a multi-cat home as long as all the cats get along. For more information on FIV, an excellent article is located here. Please consider opening up your heart and home to Daisy today - she was a wonderful mother to her kittens and now deserves a home to call her own! Contact us for more details

Magna Doodle

Magna Doodle

EVERY cat deserves to be CAT of the MONTH –
But this month the spot light is on ME!!!
This is MY extra special chance to find a forever home!
Since I’m the CAT of the MONTH, my adoption fee is FREE - just for this month!
Some folks call me “Maggie”... I was found as a stray on 10/13/09, so I’ve been sitting patiently for over 3 months. They think I am around 5 years old but that is just a guess. Check out the color of my coat – many people have told me it’s very pretty and unique. Even though I am so grateful not to be living on the street anymore, I would be even more grateful if someone would come in and adopt me!  I would be sooo much happier with some space to roam!  It’s my turn to be CAT of the MONTH – it’s my turn to find a forever home!!! You can visit Magna Doodle at the Sicklerville Petsmart Store.
