There's always something going on at CCAS so be sure to stay on top of it by signing up for our newsletter!
Shelter life can be stressful for the pets at CCAS. This stress can manifest itself in negative ways for our animals. We are committed to fixing this problem. The best way to reduce stress is to provide our animals with outlets for their natural behaviors and give them something fun to do. An animal that is playing in its cage is not spending time worrying about its surroundings. An animal that is playing is also much more likely to be noticed by potential adopters. There are so many simple, often thrown away items that can be used to enrich the lives of our animals.
It is important that we have a constant supply of these items so that not a day goes by where a cat or dog sits bored in its cage. It is also important that these items arrive disinfected and ready to use. This way, we spend less time readying them and more time using them.
So start a collection at home, school, or work...put a bag in the bathroom for all our used toilet paper rolls, etc. We have so many cats and dogs here...the more you can bring in, the better. Help us Reduce, Reuse, and ENRICH! The following list contains many of the items we are looking for. Please help us help them!
Thank you for considering donating to CCAS. As a non-profit organization, we rely on donations in order to do business. Your donation will help CCAS pay vets for spaying/neutering surgeries, purchase medical equipment, buy food for our animals, or gather many, many other necessities.
If you wish to have your donation go towards a specific animal, purpose or project at the shelter, please make a note on your check, money order or online donation!
Have an old computer lying about? Perhaps you bought an extra box of cat litter by accident. Donating items is another fantastic way of helping CCAS care for its animals. Item donations save CCAS the expense of having to purchase the item and allows us to turn our monetary focus towards a more pressing need. Below, you'll find a list of some of our most common necessities. If you would like to donate an item you believe would be useful to the shelter that does not appear on the list, please email the shelter at info@ccasnj.org and we would be glad to let you know if we can make use of it. Every little bit helps our furry friends.
