Camden County Animal Shelter to Announce ‘Top 20’ Leadership Awards!

In celebration with Camden County Animal Shelter’s 20th Anniversary, the Pure Hearts Awards are designed to present the Top 20 Leadership Awards to ground breaker individuals or organizations that have displayed outstanding acts of heroism, persistent effort and active involvement in making changes for the lives of homeless pets in our communities, as well as a Lifetime Pet Achievement Award.

Winners will be announced on Friday, April 27th via social media, email blast and on our Events Website. There will be an awards ceremony for the ‘Top 20’ winners on Friday, May 18th at 5:00 pm.

Public Servant

Eligible nominations in this category were for public servants of the community including, but not limited to: State or Government Officials residing in Camden County (examples include: Emergency services, [e.g. Fire, EMS, Law Enforcement, Search and Rescue, etc…]; Education, [e.g. state (public) schools, public universities, etc…]; healthcare, military, postal service, Social services, [e.g. public housing, social welfare, food subsidies, etc…]; Environmental protection)

Young Hero

Eligible nominations in this category were made for individuals of the community that are at least eight years of age up to 18 years old. The nominee can have a project that is developed in or outside of the classroom, in conjunction with an organization, or can be an initiative or organization they started on his or her own or with their friends. Projects can provide a direct service, be philanthropic, or raise awareness or advocacy around the mission of Camden County Animal Shelter.

Humane Business

Eligible nominations in this category were for businesses that have made a significant impact on the welfare of animals in our community. They can have made generous contributions of monetary donations, supplies, or volunteer teamwork on an organizational level. They can have met a substantial goal in a program that is in existence or created a new program to help efforts in conjunction with the mission of Camden County Animal Shelter.

Noteworthy Volunteer

Eligible nominations in this category were for volunteers who go above and beyond the standard effort for the well-being of animals in our communities. Volunteers are the heart and spirit of our cause. They could be a committee chair that helped accomplish its goals, someone who started a group that didn’t previously exist but was needed by the community, or any individual that has demonstrated excellent service in furthering the mission of Camden County Animal Shelter through their volunteer efforts.

Lifetime Pet Achievement

Eligible nominations in this category were for pets that have made an impact in the community by raising awareness and helping to support the efforts of Camden County Animal Shelter and its mission. They can be “celebrity” pets, pets that have overcome life altering odds, pets that have made a direct impact by increasing contributions, or pets that have made a heroic act in helping someone in need. This award is open to companion, shelter, fosters, and service pets (examples include: Law Enforcement/Public Safety, Search and Rescue, Therapy/Service, Guide/Hearing, etc…)

Nomination Guidelines

NOMINATION PERIOD HAS CLOSED!
All nominees must have demonstrated extraordinary leadership, significant heroism, persistent effort and active achievement in making changes for the lives of homeless pets in our communities.

The Pure Hearts Awards nominations were open to residents of Camden County at least 18 years of age (Young Hero nominations were open to Camden County residents at least 8 years of age.) Only one nomination could be submitted per household. You may not nominate yourself for an award. You may not nominate a business or organization if you are the owner or manager. All entrants and nominees must have signed a waiver stating they had the legal authority to submit any and all information pertaining to the nomination process, including photograph submission. All nominees have been contacted to have accepted the submission prior to approval and listing on the awards website.

A judges panel will be meeting April 21st, 2018 to review and select the “Top 20” Winners. If you have won a representative will contact you during the week of April 23rd –  no later than April 25th.

There will be an awards ceremony on Friday, May 18th at 5:00 pm (date subject to change) located at Camden County Animal Shelter.
