Volunteer and Community Relations Manager

Job Description Summary

The Volunteer and Community Relations Manager is a key position whose primary purpose is to engage volunteers and build community partnerships with those who support the work and mission of CCAS. The position interfaces with all departments to expand our capacity with volunteers within all areas of the organization including but not limited to the adoption center, life-saving team, satellite adoption centers, events and humane education programs.

Candidates should have knowledge of building/cultivating relationships with local businesses and corporations, managing and ensuring volunteer support for with community outreach events.

This position is full-time, exempt and reports to the Director of Development. May include some week nights and weekends.  Working knowledge of Volgistics, a college degree and a minimum of three (3) years of volunteer management and non-profit development experience is preferred.

Assistant Operations Supervisor

Job Description Summary 
The Assistant Operations Supervisor will assist with overseeing the daily operations by managing and supervising the operation of the animal shelter and shelter staff. This role is vital to sustaining and exceeding 90 percent animal save rate at Camden County Animal Shelter. The Assistant Supervisor will assist with the oversight of all lifesaving programs to include foster care program, transport and rescue, adoptions as well as enrichment and outreach programs. This position will manage all animal care, admissions, behavioral evaluations, and adoptions daily, in addition, ensuring the safety, sanitation, and daily upkeep of the facility. The assistant supervisor will be the shelter supervisor on duty when Shelter Operations Manager and Executive Director are absent. This position will report directly Shelter Operation Manager.

Kennel Attendant Position

Job Description Summary

The Kennel Attendant is responsible for the overall care of all the animals within the shelter. The
responsibilities will vary based on the current needs of the shelter.

Duties will include:
• To observe animal appearance and activity for general physical condition, obvious signs of illness,
disease and discontent.
• To thoroughly clean and disinfect all areas of the shelter as often as is necessary.
• To determine the type and amount of food animals receive.
• To take charge and/or handle animals as required and to restrain hard to control animals.
• To walk dogs several times a day to provide exercise and time for elimination of bowels and bladder.
• To perform needed cleaning and maintenance of all equipment and tools used in job assignments.

Job Summary:
• Under direction of the Shelter Operations Manager, provides for the constant cleanliness of cages, runs and shelter areas and the proper feeding and care of all shelter animals.

Full-Time Veterinary Technician

We are currently seeking an exceptional, motivated and enthusiastic full-time Registered Veterinary Technician with at least one year experience to join our dedicated team.

Communication skills are essential along with exemplary professionalism and efficient proficiency in animal restraint, venipuncture, dentistry, and surgical preparation and monitoring. Technicians are expected to show initiative, and efficiently and accurately complete doctor orders in a fast-paced environment.

Certification and high volume spay and neuter experience preferred, but will we also provide training.

Part-Time Veterinary Technician

We are currently seeking an exceptional, motivated and enthusiastic part-time Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated team.

Duties include but not limited to, surgical prep and monitoring, administering vaccines and drawing blood. Preparing medications and aiding in the treatment of shelter animals. Basic data entry, cleaning of instruments and other technician related duties as well. Experience a plus but not necessary.

Relief Veterinarian

Camden County Animal Shelter is seeking a relief veterinarian to serve our shelter animals. CCAS provides high volume spay and neuter surgeries (20-30/day). The ideal candidate will be responsible for the day to day evaluation, spay/neuter surgeries as well as treatment and rehabilitation of shelter animals. Flexible availability required, including Saturdays. A valid New Jersey veterinary license and previous shelter experience is required. Camden County Animal Shelter is non-for-profit, animal welfare organization.

Director of Veterinarian Services

Director of Veterinarian Services position of Camden County Animal Shelter will support efforts to provide quality veterinary care to the thousands homeless animals as well as Camden County community pets through low-cost spay and neuter and vaccine clinic services. Director of Veterinarian Services will oversee all clinic operations and medical staff including high quality; high volume spays and neuter surgeries, vaccination clinics, medical evaluation and treatment of sick and injured shelter animals. Supervises staffing plans and budgets, will evaluate area expenditures to meet budget constraints. Responsible for managing high level of veterinary services, development, and implementation of all clinic and medical operational objectives. Minimum of 3 years in shelter operations, clinic operations, veterinary hospital, shelter medicine and/or senior level management required. Degree in Veterinary Medicine from an accredited institution. Concentration in shelter medicine preferred. This position reports directly to the Executive Director.
